The 2010 Goldman Prize recipients met with US EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson at EPA headquarters in Washington, DC. Each prize winner had the opportunity to discuss their specific environmental work with her, and she provided insight into how her administration would be tackling some key issues in the coming months.

Following the Goldman Prize ceremony in San Francisco, the 2010 recipients took off for meetings and events in Washington, DC, including the annual Congressional Luncheon on Capitol Hill hosted by Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi on Earth Day.
On April 19, the Goldman Prize winners were awarded the 2010 Prize before a 3000-person audience at the San Francisco War Memorial Opera House. Highlights included an address by Douglas Goldman, performances by Senegalese star Baaba Maal, and master of ceremonies duties masterfully handled by actor and environmentalist Peter Coyote.
